Leading Exporters of Premium Rhodes Grass in Pakistan, Ensuring Quality & Satisfaction Worldwide

Rhodes Grass in Pakistan, scientifically known as Chloris gayana, is a summer-growing, stoloniferous perennial that holds a vital place in Pakistan’s agricultural sector. Its popularity extends across tropical and subtropical regions, including India and Bangladesh, due to numerous benefits:

Rhodes Grass significantly contributes to animal forage exports, with its high yield and excellent nutritional profile. When harvested early, it provides high protein content and digestibility, making it ideal for grazing and hay production for livestock such as cows, cattle, goats, and horses.

The robust stolons (runners) of Rhodes Grass enhance soil health by preventing erosion, supporting long-term productivity, pasture sustainability, and ecosystem stability.

Pakistan has strong potential to become a leading exporter of Rhodes Grass globally. The country’s favorable growing conditions and focus on cultivating high-quality varieties help produce a crop with superior yield and nutritional value, positioning Rhodes Grass in Pakistan as an exceptional forage option in the international market.

Pakistan Rhodes Grass Production Process

The production process of Rhodes Grass in Pakistan is both meticulous and systematic to ensure the highest quality of forage. It begins with thorough land preparation and effective irrigation. Seeds are sown using the broadcast method in standing water, with the ideal sowing period ranging from February to October. Fertilizers, including DAP and urea, are applied at sowing and after each cut to promote growth. Harvesting takes place with a mower, cutting the grass four inches above the soil, with the first cut ready in 50 days and subsequent cuts every 30 days. The grass is then formed into swaths using a rake, tossed lightly to form even strips. Following this, the grass is dried under sunlight until the moisture content reduces to 15%. The dried grass is pressed into rectangular bales using a baler and tied with rope. Finally, these bales are export, ensuring they reach customers in optimal condition, ready to provide livestock with high-quality, nutritious hay.
